Marco & Becca: COVID Couldn't Stop This Engagement.

The Story

What does the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and a dating app have in common? They both marked the first page of Marco and Becca’s story.

Knowing that Marco was a student at Pitt’s Dental School, Becca updated her picture to one of her and her sister (she thought Becca and Marco should go on a date!) who was also studying at the same school to be a hygienist. Becca’s plan worked and Marco took notice. The two started talking and the rest you can say is history.

As their relationship evolved, Marco knew it was time to propose. He had a plan and a ring he bought in March. But that plan, just like the rest of the world, was stopped in its tracks when COVID-19 struck. Marco’s idea to have the ring custom-made at Verragio in New York City and ready for April around her birthday or in May for her graduation was also sidelined as the pandemic intensified. When the ring finally did arrive in June, Marco made his move and decided to propose that same weekend at Conneaut Lake on Midway Beach, a place he visited frequently as a young kid and where he now makes new memories with Becca as they take a trip every summer.  The plan worked out perfectly and the special moment was captured on film as his brother, who’s a skilled videographer, was in town to take photographs and videos the couple will cherish forever. The couple shares a love for healthcare and taking care of others as Becca is a newly-graduated nurse and Marco is a dentist. Both are entering the workforce and are excited to plan their future. Though the virus will delay their wedding until 2022, Marco and Becca are excited to be engaged and planning their big day.

The Ring

Marco purchased a beautifully 1 carat diamond Verragio ring. He elevated the design by using the pave setting and adding an additional .6 carats around the pear cut diamond.
